Awesome Youtube Channels #1 – Ideas sharing / Educational

Hi, here’s my first entry in my “Awesome Youtube Channels” series. It focuses on channels that spread ideas and explain facts in a gripping way.

The first one is TEDtalksDirector, a Youtube channel compiling the many TED conferences (Technology, Entertainment and Design). From the wikipedia article: Ted Talks address a wide range of topics within the research and practice of science and culture, often through storytelling. The speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and engaging ways they can. Past presenters include Bill Clinton, Jane Goodall, Malcolm Gladwell, Al Gore, Gordon Brown, Richard Dawkins, Bill Gates, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and many Nobel Prize winners.
Here’s one of the many brilliant TED talks available on Youtube.

I chose this particular talk to present the TED channel because it makes the perfect bond with my next Youtube Channel, called Khan Academy.

The knowledge of Salman Khan is just mind-blowing, he already posted more than 3000 educational videos (usually hosted by him) on his channel, in topics as diverse as Algebra, Art History and Economics.

But the Youtube channel is just one part of his Education for all project, he made an entire website, designed as an online school,  where you can actually test your own knowledge with the helps of tests, and see your skills improve on graphics.

And Khan always remains precise in his videos, whether he focuses on the very basics of mathematics or an economic crisis.

Thirdly, one of my personal favorite channels on youtube: VSauce

There are different kind of videos on this channel. My favorites are the ones presenting wide-ranging subjects like colors, space, sound and time.. in an extremely addictive way.

Here’s a video dealing with Love, and its possible measurement:
